When it comes to undergoing procedures to smooth out the lines and wrinkles in your skin for a more youthful facial appearance, you now have options that weren’t available in the past.
Who Are The Candidates for Cosmetic Skin Smoothing Procedures?
The skin in your face and around your jawline begins to sag over time. You could be a candidate for one of these cosmetic procedures if you’re not satisfied with the creases that have formed around your eyelids, mouth, or a sagging jawline and cheeks.
You may be torn between deciding to undergo a facelift or a non-surgical THERMISmooth face procedure. Consider the differences between the two and then follow up with a consultation to ask more questions of our physicians at Byrd Aesthetic & Anti-Aging Center in Roswell, Georgia.
A full facelift is a surgical outpatient procedure that dramatically improves your appearance, resulting in a more youthful and rested look. This procedure can address mid-facial sagging, creases and wrinkles around the eyes, naso-labial folds, loose skin, jowls, and a double chin. It requires either sedation as small incisions are necessary, usually at the hairline, around the ear, and in the lower scalp. These incisions are hidden when the facelift is completed.
An alternative to a full facelift is a mini-facelift if you want to regain your skin’s elasticity, restore firmness along the jaw and chin lines, lift the cheeks, jowls and neck areas and correct sun damage. Dr. Marcia Byrd, M.D., Medical Director of Byrd Aesthetic & Anti-Aging Center in the Atlanta area performs full and mini-facelifts in addition to other body sculpting procedures.
A mini-facelift is an in-office procedure that takes one to two hours. A mild sedative is used for your comfort. During a mini-facelift, a small incision is made around the hairline, ear and toward the nape. Tissue and facial muscles are tightened and lifted to obtain dramatic results that can enable you to appear from 5 to 15 years more youthful.
If you wish to iron out your facial creases and create a more youthful look without pain or downtime, consider one or more treatments of THERMISmooth Face. It is done in the office using a topical gel that is heated using a hand piece massaged over your skin’s surface. Dr. Marcia Byrd, M.D. performs THERMISmooth Face treatments in sessions that take from 10 to 30 minutes. You may see results after the first treatment, but three treatments are generally needed to obtain the best outcome. During THERMISmooth Face the skin’s collagen is strengthened and more is produced to smooth and tighten your skin over time. After a few months you will achieve optimal results that can last for a year or more. After that, a single treatment done every 9 to 12 months is all that is needed.
There is no recovery time necessary after THERMISmooth face treatments, and you may even be able to complete your treatments during a lunch break from work. These non-invasive treatments are best suited to those who want to smooth the fine skin around the eyes and lips, but can be conducted for any area of the face.
